Soumya Banerjee- Senior Research Associate

Soumya Banerjee, with an M.Phil. in Social Science Research from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, brings a wealth of policy research experience to his role at the Bharti Institute. His prior engagements include impactful work with the state governments of West Bengal and Odisha, Landesa-RDI, NABARD, and Grant Thornton-Bharat, focusing on qualitative and mixed-method research related to government policies and welfare schemes.

A key contributor to Odisha's state action plan for "Innovative Agro forestry for Food and Nutrition Security," Soumya's expertise spans an ethnobotany of indigenous crops and land policies addressing growth and climate change. He also serves on the research planning and ethics committee at the Government of Odisha's Center of Excellence for Result-based Management and Good Governance.

Soumya's scholarly output includes chapters in policy administration manuals for OAS & IAS officers, articles on rural development in PRADAN's News Reach magazine, and peer-reviewed publications in the field of land policy, showcasing his significant contributions to research and policy development.
