Amit Upmanyu- State Coordinator

Amit Upmanyu, holding a master’s in social work with a specialization in Urban and Rural Community Development from Karve Institute of Social Service, Pune, brings a rich background in sustainable development to his role as State Coordinator. Before joining the Bharti Institute of Public Policy, Amit's career was marked by impactful contributions to the Himmotthan Society-Tata Trusts in Dehradun, ACWADAM in Pune, and Lok Vigyan Kendra in Palampur.

His expertise encompasses NRM-based livelihoods, community institution development, and the establishment of livestock and agriculture-based enterprises in the western Himalayas of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, Amit has significant experience in aquifer-based groundwater management across Maharashtra, MP, and Jharkhand, as well as spring rejuvenation and management in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Beyond his professional commitments, Amit enjoys exploring new places and indulging in his passion for cooking.
