Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar Producer Companies Collaborate to Complete Sale of Sal Seeds Despite Operational Challenges

The 2025 sal seed season in Odisha ended with Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar Producer Companies (PCs) collaborating to overcome operational challenges. They dispatched 25,500 kg of sal seeds to AAK India Private Limited (AAKIPL)’s Raipur factory at ₹29.25 per kg, inclusive of transport. The shipment generated ₹7,83,168 in total. Mayurbhanj PC contributed 13,120 kg, while Keonjhar PC provided 12,380 kg. This joint dispatch was facilitated through Gandha Mardan Green Shakti Producer Company (GMGSPC) Limited in Ghatgaon, Keonjhar.

Keonjhar PC faced premium transport charges of ₹30 per km for small quantities due to permit requirements. AAKIPL failed to provide promised logistical support despite 10 days of follow-up. The PCs overcame these constraints through mutual support and creative problem-solving.

It shows how PCs can build regional networks that strengthen the entire sector rather than focusing solely on individual success.
