Five Women-Owned, Forest-Based PCs Successfully Formed in Andhra Pradesh
Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Andhra Pradesh in August 2025, we have successfully completed the formation of all five proposed women-owned, forest-based Producer Companies (PCs) in the state. This milestone is the result of months of close coordination between IoFE, the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), the Tribal Welfare Department, the District Collector Office, and the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA). The five PCs have been formed to strengthen collective enterprise development around bamboo and forest produce by enabling aggregation, value addition, and direct market linkages across Community Forest Rights (CFR) landscapes.
Geography of the PCs
Two PCs in Alluri Sitarama Raju District
In Paderu division of Alluri Sitarama Raju (ASR) district, Vanagiri Forest Producer Company Limited became the first company to be incorporated with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), followed shortly by Manyam Forest Producer Company Limited. Both companies have received all key statutory registrations and documentation — including Certificates of Incorporation, Memoranda of Association (MoA), Articles of Association (AoA), Permanent Account Numbers (PAN), and Tax Deduction and Collection Account Numbers (TAN). They are now positioned to commence formal operations.
Three PCs in Polavaram District
In Rampachodavaram division, Rampa Forest Producer Company Limited was successfully incorporated with the MCA. The company covers the mandals of Devipatnam, Gangavaram, Rampachodavaram, and Maredumilli. The same division also saw the incorporation of Papikondalu Green Producer Company Limited, which became the fourth PC to be formed in Andhra Pradesh under this partnership. The fifth and final company, Adavithalli Green Producer Company Limited, based in Chinturu division of Polavaram district, has also been successfully incorporated with the MCA. Its formation completes the full set of five women-owned, forest-based enterprises envisioned for the state.
The establishment of all five PCs represents a significant step towards building a sustainable, community-owned forest economy in Andhra Pradesh. Designed to eliminate exploitative intermediaries and bring transparency to forest-based value chains, these enterprises will create direct market linkages and ensure fair prices for tribal communities.
