Multistakeholder partnerships for building an Inclusive Forest Economy

A successful multi-way partnership can potentially benefit 200 million people, denting poverty at a scale not seen before. However, this requires much more than industry-community partnerships. The initiative on Forest Economy will facilitate multi-way partnerships between government, industry, civil society, academy, and forest communities for ensuring sustainable forest management and livelihoods.

An open call…

Our ambition is to foster an environment in which a sustainable and inclusive forest economy could flourish. This requires a multi-way engagement between the diverse set of actors ranging from the forest communities, government, industry, civil society, academy, and consumers. The common cause of strengthening the forest economies promotes this multi-actor engagement. Currently, our efforts are directed towards seeding this engagement by providing a common platform to these diverse groups of actors. We expect that an engagement between these actors would contribute towards secure tenure rights of the forest communities, establish sustained market linkages between the forest communities and businesses, create incentives for sustainable value chains of the Seasonal Forest Products, and generate technology-based solutions to increase productivity and inclusivity at the local level.

We value the diversity of knowledge, and perspectives. Everybody is welcome. All hands on deck!

If you are a government entity, corporate entity, academic or research institute, civil society organisation, or media house, excited about our work and vision, and want to partner with us, feel free to express your interest.
